Hudson Valley GOP Chairs Endorse Joseph Hernandez for New York State Comptroller

For Immediate Release

ALBANY, NY — Republican county chairs across the Hudson Valley today endorsed Joseph Hernandez for New York State Comptroller, bringing the total number of county chair endorsements to 21 statewide.

The following Hudson Valley Republican county chairs have formally endorsed Hernandez’s campaign for New York State Comptroller:

  • Dutchess County — Mike McCormack
  • Orange County — Courtney Canfield Green
  • Putnam County — Andres Gil
  • Rockland County — Michael Lawler
  • Ulster County — Ken Ronk
  • Westchester County — Douglas Colety

Hudson Valley leaders pointed to persistent failures in fiscal oversight, including pension underperformance that strains local budgets, unchecked waste and abuse of taxpayer dollars, and continued mismanagement at the MTA.

“New York does not have a revenue problem. It has an accountability problem,” said Hernandez. “The Comptroller’s job is to protect taxpayers, demand performance, and challenge bad decisions. I am grateful for the support of Republican leaders across the Hudson Valley who understand the urgency of restoring real oversight.”

Hudson Valley Regional Chair and Westchester County Republican Chair Douglas Colety said the endorsements reflect growing impatience with the status quo.

“County leaders across the Hudson Valley are tired of watching local taxpayers absorb the cost of Albany’s mistakes,” Colety said. “Joseph Hernandez understands the Comptroller must be independent, assertive, and willing to say no.”
