STATEWIDE GOP LEADERS RALLY BEHIND HERNANDEZ IN EARLY ENDORSEMENTS

ALBANY, NY Joseph Hernandez, Republican candidate for New York State Comptroller, today announced the first round of endorsements in his campaign, earning the official support of 15 Republican county chairs from across New York State.

The endorsements mark significant confidence early on for Hernandez’s campaign and his focus on restoring fiscal discipline, enforcing real oversight, and holding state government accountable for how taxpayer dollars are spent.

“Our Republican county chairs understand what Albany has lost sight of,” Hernandez said. “They see the need for accountability, transparency, and better stewardship. The Comptroller’s office should be a true watchdog for the people. I’m running to restore trust with real-time audits, stronger pension performance through in-house investing, and a $10 billion commitment to invest in New York’s future for the benefit of taxpayers and retirees.”

The following Republican county chairs have formally endorsed Hernandez’s campaign for New York State Comptroller:

  • Albany County — James McGaughan
  • Allegany County — Kevin “Fred” Demick
  • Broome County — Ben Federman
  • Cattaraugus County — Mark Heberling
  • Cayuga County — Nate VeVone
  • Chautauqua County — Nacole Ellis
  • Genesee County — Scott German
  • Kings County — Liam McCabe
  • Niagara County — Richard Andres, Jr.
  • Oneida County — Ken Roser
  • Ontario County — Trisha Turner
  • Orleans County — Merle “Skip” Draper
  • Schenectady County — Liz Joy
  • Westchester County — Douglas Colety
  • Wyoming County — Cheryl Mayer

“This race is about competence, not politics,” Hernandez said. “The Comptroller oversees hundreds of billions of dollars, and New Yorkers deserve someone who will ask hard questions, audit aggressively, and stop fraud before it costs taxpayers billions more. That’s what I will do as Comptroller.”
